This was my first Rachel Amphlett's book, and won't be my last. This is the ninth book in the Detective Kay Hunter Series, a gripping Police Procedurale Thriller. You can listen to this audiobook as a standalone, but I believe it is better to begin with the first book in the Series to have a better understanding of Kay's life. The story is well written and captivating. Some scenes are descriptive and intense. Kay is an amazing character, strong, smart, and capable. Kay's team is at the center of this story. The storyline is complex, breathtaking, intriguing and fast-paced, filled with danger, suspense, and mystery. The investigation is intricate, and unfolds at a great pace, letting you guessing until the end. Alison Campbell did a great job with the narration. She has a great voice and a beautiful accent. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the other books in the Series.
